Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Speech Pathologist to diagnose and treat communication disorders in children and adults. You will conduct assessments, interpret results, and tailor therapy plans for both individual and group settings.

The role emphasizes augmentative communication methods, home program design, and collaboration with families and the healthcare team. Weekend schedule with 9:00 am–4:00 pm shifts, non-exempt status, and potential signing bonus.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Speech Pathology required.
• Current MA Speech Pathology license.
• ASHA membership preferred.

Major Responsibilities

• Conduct diagnostic evaluations of communication disorders in children and adults, including language, articulation, voice, stuttering, and neurological disorders. Analyze client data and interpret test results.
• Provide remedial treatment in individual and group settings, using clinical techniques appropriate to each disorder.
• Recommend, design, and implement augmentative communication methods, such as communication boards and mechanical devices.
• Provide information about communication disorders to patients, families, and others.
• Design and establish home programs and other activities for carryover or reinforcement of therapy.

Position Qualifications

License/Certification/Education

• Master’s Degree in Speech Pathology.
• Current MA Speech Pathology license.
• Member of ASHA.

Experience/Skills

• Attainment of the certificate of clinical competence.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills; demonstrated clinical knowledge.
• Excellent customer service skills and ability to work cooperatively with all members of the healthcare team.
