Inova Health is seeking Speech Pathologists to join our hospitals across Northern Virginia. We have openings for Full-time, Part-time and PRN, Day Shift, Monday-Friday with rotating weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology (SLP) required.
• Virginia Speech Language Pathologist license required.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association required.
• 1 year Speech Pathologist experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates advanced clinical expertise in patient evaluation, treatment and documentation.
• Collaborates with the patient and/or family to set priorities and maximize participation in the treatment process.
• Demonstrates creativity and resourcefulness to gain patient involvement and adapt the treatment environment.
• Provides clinical mentoring and supervision to new or less experienced staff and students.
• May perform additional duties as assigned.

Speech Pathologist Job Responsibilities

• Demonstrates advanced clinical expertise in patient evaluation treatment and documentation.
• Collaborates with the patient and/or family whenever possible to set treatment priorities and select activities that maximize participation in the treatment process as evidenced by feedback and observation.
• Demonstrates creativity, diversity and resourcefulness to gain patient involvement, to accommodate special circumstances or needs of the patient or adapt the treatment environment to optimize patient responses evidenced by team feedback and observation.
• Provides clinical mentoring and operational guidance, education, and/or supervision to new or less experienced staff, students and support personnel. Acts as an approachable, tactful mentor in all situations. Takes a proactive role with new or inexperienced staff in developing their clinical and administrative skills as evidenced by staff feedback and outcomes of mentoring efforts.
• May perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology (SLP)
• Licensure: Virginia Speech Language Pathologist license
• Certification: BLS from the American Heart Association.

Preferred Qualification

• 1 year of Speech Pathologist (SLP) experience
