Job summary

Kindred Hospital Dallas Central, LTAC Hospital is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join Lifepoint Rehabilitation. This PRN position offers an opportunity to impact swallowing and communication outcomes in a specialized LTAC setting.

The role requires a Master's in Speech Language Pathology, TX licensure, and BLS certification within 60 days. You will evaluate, treat, educate families, and supervise students as part of a committed care team.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology is required.
• Licensed Speech Therapist with TX Board licensure.
• BLS certification within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat swallowing, speech-language and therapy needs.
• Perform and document initial and ongoing assessments of patient condition.
• Design and implement a plan of care involving patient and family.
• Educate and counsel patients and families regarding treatment plans and progress.
• Plan and/or assist with patient discharge from therapy services.
• Supervise activities of clinical fellows, students, and other support personnel.

How You'll Contribute

A Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) who excels in this role will:

• Evaluate and treat patient populations for swallowing, speech-language and therapy needs.
• Perform and document initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition.
• Design and implement a plan of care which is appropriate to problems identified and involves the patient and family.
• Educate and counsel patients and families regarding treatment plans and progress.
• Plan and/or assist with patient discharge from therapy services.

What We're Looking For

Applicants must hold a Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology. Additional requirements include:

• Licensed Speech Therapist; Current licensure with TX Board of Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 60 days of hire
