Job summary

Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Chattanooga at Cleveland is seeking a Senior Speech Language Pathologist to lead patient care across speech and communication needs. You will guide a team, mentor colleagues, and supervise therapy staff while delivering compassionate, personalized care in a rehabilitation setting.

Requirements include active state licensure, CCC certification, and at least two years of SLP experience. CPR/BLS is required or obtained within 30 days.

Qualifications

• Current licensure in Speech Therapy per state regulations.
• CCC (ASHA) Certification required.
• CPR/BLS certification required or within 30 days of hire.
• Bachelor's in speech therapy or related field; Master's/Doctorate preferred.
• Minimum of two years' speech language pathology experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to patients and build rewarding relationships throughout recovery.
• Lead and mentor team, including SLPA supervision and cross‑department collaboration.
• Support education programs and student/trainee initiatives.
• Participate in in-service education and professional development.

Embrace Your Role as a Senior Speech Language Pathologist
Your impactful journey involves:

• Providing direct care to patients and building rewarding relationships by understanding each patient's physical, mental, and emotional needs to aid in their recovery.
• Assisting with speech language in-service education and our speech language pathologist student program.
• Mentoring and training new colleagues and other departments as needed.
• Delegating and supervising speech therapy assistants and technicians.

Qualifications

• Current licensure or certification required by state regulations.
• Successful completion of SLP Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC).

• Bachelor's degree in speech therapy or management. Master's or Doctorate degree preferred.
• Minimum of two years speech language pathology experience.
• Active on Therapy Clinical Ladder (when eligible) or specialty professional certifications.

License or Certification:
Must be in possession of current state license in Speech Therapy.
