Job summary

Ivinson Memorial Hospital in Laramie, WY is hiring a Speech-Language Pathologist to evaluate and treat inpatients and outpatients. You will perform assessments, develop therapy plans, and educate patients and families under ASHA guidelines.

Requirements include a Wyoming SLP license, ABC, and BLS certification. The position includes comprehensive benefits and a focus on teamwork and quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Wyoming SLP license in good standing
• ASHA CCC or eligibility with CCC upon eligibility
• Current BLS certification or within 60 days of hire
• Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology
• Graduation from ASHA-accredited program required

Responsibilities

• Review patient records to determine appropriate tools and equipment
• Evaluate patient needs using objective tests and measurements
• Implement age-appropriate therapies and programs per plan of care
• Coordinate continued therapy needs or maintenance upon discharge with written instructions
• Complete daily documentation and billing procedures accurately
• Provide clear verbal and written instructions with demonstrations
• Other duties as assigned

Base salary starts at $38.95/hr.

• Reviews patient's medical record regarding history, diagnosis, and precautions prior to providing treatment for inpatients and outpatients to determine appropriate tools and equipment are available prior to any treatment session.
• Evaluates patient needs using objective tests and measurements.
• Implements age appropriate therapies, functional activities, and programs per patient plan of care.
• Makes arrangements or recommendations for continued therapy needs or a maintenance program upon discharge with written instruction as needed.
• Responsible for completing all daily documentation and billing procedures promptly and accurately.
• Provides effective verbal and/or written instructions with demonstration as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Graduation from an American Speech, Language and Hearing Association accredited Speech Language Pathology program required.
• Masters of Science degree in Speech Language Pathology required.

E X P E R I E N C E

• Previous Speech Language Pathology experience in a hospital and/or outpatient clinic setting is preferred.

C R E D E N T I A L S

• Must have a current, valid Wyoming Speech Language Pathology license and must be in good standing with the Wyoming State Board of Speech Language Pathology and Audiology.
• Must have a certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology from the American Speech, Language and Hearing Association (ASHA), or must be working towards eligibility and must obtain certificate upon eligibility.
• Must have current, valid Basic Life Support credential (BLS), or obtain within the first 60 days of hire and must maintain credential throughout employment with Ivinson.
• Excellent customer service skills, including but not limited to: a friendly personality, tact, patience, empathy and a helpful, professional attitude both in person and on the telephone.
• Ability to effectively communicate with staff, managers and the general public verbally and in writing.
• Excellent organization and time management skills and ability to establish priorities effectively.
