Job Responsibilities

The Speech Pathologist requires a deep knowledge of diagnosing and treating patients with augmentative communication needs, developmental speech and language disorders, acquired cognitive and language disorders, fluency, voice, dysphagia, aphasia, apraxia, and dysarthria.

The role involves autonomous work, teaching, and consultation with departments, physicians, therapy specialists within UCDMC, educational specialists, and community service providers. Coordination with primary care providers and managing insurance authorizations are also required.

Minimum Qualifications

• California Licensed Speech Pathologist
• Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from ASHA
• Master’s Degree in Speech Pathology
• Knowledge of assessment instruments, test procedures, scoring, and interpretation
• Effective communication skills with patients and families
• Ability to develop and modify treatment programs based on testing and progress
• Experience in maintaining accurate records and billing
• Ability to work collaboratively and follow instructions
• Ability to supervise students and interns
• Knowledge of community resources

Position Details

• Salary: $67.18/hour (shift differential may apply)
• Type: Per Diem, 20% appointment
• Location: UCDH Rehab Hospital, Sacramento, CA

• On-site work required; remote options not available
