Job summary

Adventist Health Sierra Vista on the Central California Coast is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to provide diagnostic, therapeutic and consultative services for patients with communication, cognitive and swallowing disorders. You will work as part of an interdisciplinary care team and comply with state and federal regulations.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology is required.
  • Two years of Speech-Language Pathology experience is preferred.

  • Assists in data collection of patient outcomes.
  • Instructs and directs support staff, as outlined in national and state Practice Acts.

Nestled on the Central California Coast, Adventist Health Sierra Vista has been providing care to our community since 1959. Our 162-bed acute care facility includes a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and county designated trauma center. Job Summary:

Provides diagnostic, therapeutic and consultative services to patients with communication, cognitive and swallowing disorders. Adheres to state and federal regulatory license, certification and accrediting requirement guidelines. Serves as an integral member of the interdisciplinary care team. This position is represented by SEIU.


Job Requirements:

Education and Work Experience:


  • Master's Degree: Required

  • Two years' speech language pathology experience: Preferred


Licenses/Certifications:


  • Speech Pathologist licensure in the state of practice: Required

  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required

  • American Speech-Language and Hearing Association (ASHA) Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC): Preferred


Facility Specific License/Certifications:


  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required


Essential Functions:


  • Reviews patient information before evaluations and during course of treatment.
