Job summary

Adventist Health Sierra Vista in San Luis Obispo, CA, is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to provide diagnostic, therapeutic and consultative services for patients with communication, cognitive and swallowing disorders. The role supports an interdisciplinary care team and requires state licensure.

The position is represented by SEIU; licensure and CPR/BLS are required; CCC preferred. Full-time schedule, day shift; 8-hour shift.

Qualifications

  • Speech Pathologist licensure in the state of practice: Required

  • ASHA CCC: Preferred
  • BLS certification required by AH policy: Required

Responsibilities

  • Reviews patient information before evaluations and during course of treatment.
  • Conducts and documents comprehensive patient assessments.
  • Assists in data collection of patient outcomes.
  • Instructs and directs support staff, as outlined in national and state Practice Acts.
  • Supervises assistants and support staff.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Provides diagnostic, therapeutic and consultative services to patients with communication, cognitive and swallowing disorders. Adheres to state and federal regulatory license, certification and accrediting requirement guidelines. Serves as an integral member of the interdisciplinary care team. This position is represented by SEIU.

Job Requirements
  • Master's Degree: Required
  • Two years' speech language pathology experience: Preferred
Licenses/Certifications
  • Speech Pathologist licensure in the state of practice: Required
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required
  • American Speech-Language and Hearing Association (ASHA) Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC): Preferred
Facility Specific License/Certifications
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required
