Job summary

Nemours Children’s Health in Broomall, PA is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist (Full-Time) to join our outpatient program. You will evaluate and treat children from birth to 18, document thoroughly, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to support patient-centered care.

The role requires PA licensure (or provisional), a second DE license, and ASHA CCC-SLP or CFY in-process. Pediatric experience and feeding experience are preferred; BLS is required within 6 months of hire.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology from an ASHA-accredited university is required.
  • 3–6 months of experience preferred; new grads considered based on education.
  • PA SLP license or provisional license required on hire.
  • A second license (DE) is required for all clinical positions; submit within 2 weeks.
  • ASHA CCC-SLP or CFY in-process with goal of CCC-SLP within 10–12 months.
  • PA clearances are required on hire.
  • BLS certification required within 6 months of hire.
  • Membership in ASHA or State SLP associations preferred.
  • Pediatric experience and feeding experience are preferred.

  • Maintain knowledge of insurance referrals and documentation requirements.

Nemours Children’s Health, Broomall is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist (Full-Time) to join our outpatient program in Broomall, Pennsylvania.

Provides Speech-Language Pathology evaluations, interventions and patient/family education under the prescription of a physician. Will establish and maintain appropriate documentation and communication with medical and clinical staff and outside agencies within the guidelines designated by state licensure, the department and Delaware Valley policies and procedures. Actively participates in departmental education activities in order to expand knowledge of patient populations and evidence-based practice.

Essential Functions
  • Demonstrates competency in pediatric Speech Therapy in the care of patients aged birth to 18.
  • Able to provide speech therapy services to a variety of patient types with recognition of his/her own limitations while seeking appropriate mentorship as needed.
  • Completes timely documentation as required by departmental policy #7980.3.3, Joint Commission, and CARF standards.
  • Attends meetings related to patient treatment and contributes to discussion as an interdisciplinary team member.
  • Consults with other services, families, and outside agencies to recommend durable medical equipment, home/school modifications and transitional speech therapy program prior to discharge from therapy.
  • Maintains knowledge of and familiarity with insurance referral/authorization process and documentation requirements related to therapy services.
Job Requirements
  • Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology or its equivalent from an ASHA-accredited university required.
  • Minimum of three (3) to six (6) months experience required. New graduates will be considered based on educational experiences.
  • State of Pennsylvania Speech Language Pathologist License or provisional/temporary license in speech-language pathology required upon hire.
  • A second license (State of DE) will be required for all clinical positions. Must submit license or proof of application submission within 2 weeks of job acceptance, but this second license is not required to be active at the start of employment. All clinical staff will maintain dual licensure.
  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP), or Clinical Fellowship Year(CFY) in-process with goal of achieving CCC-SLP within 10-12 monthsrequired.
  • Pennsylvania clearances are required upon hire.
  • American Heart Association BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) required within 6 months of date of hire and must be maintained for duration of employment.
  • Member of professional specialty organizations (ASHA, State Speech & Hearing Association) preferred.
  • Pediatric experience is preferred.
  • Experience in feeding is preferred.
  • Experience with physically and/or mentally challenged populations preferred. Familiarity with speech and language development, deviation, and disorders. Familiarly with assessment scales and instruments, techniques of assessment and intervention with pediatric population.
