Job summary

Northwest Kansas Educational Service Center is seeking a Speech Paraeducator to support students with disabilities in Hill City/Oakley, KS. Responsibilities include implementing plans from certified staff, interacting with students, and maintaining confidential information.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Enjoys working with children.
• Basic skills appropriate to employment situations including acceptable communication patterns.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
• Must have, or be able to obtain, and maintain a valid Kansas driver’s license.
• Ability to lift as required by job.

Responsibilities

• Carry out specific plans made by certified personnel for students identified with disabilities.
• Work and interact appropriately with children identified with disabilities.
• Adhere to local and Northwest Kansas Educational Service Center policies.
• Participate in pre-training and in-service to meet KSDE, NKESC, and local guidelines.
• Prepare requests for materials purchases, duplicating materials, completing forms/reports, planning/keeping appointments, and other duties as directed by supervisor.
• Be able to research materials as needed.
• Keep own work area clean and neat.
• Maintain and adequate filing system for instructional and assessment materials and student files.
• Keep current with NKESC computer technology used for Interrelated Program advancement.
• Maintain a log of activities to meet guidelines.
• Perform any other duties as directed.
