Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Speech Language Pathology Assistant program or related field.
• State licensure or certification as a Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA).
• CPR and First Aid certification.
• Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).

Responsibilities

• Assist the SLP in assessments, screenings, and evaluations to identify communication disorders in students.
• Implement therapeutic interventions and treatment plans under SLP supervision.
• Provide one-on-one or group therapy sessions to improve speech and language.
• Document and maintain accurate records of student progress, goals, and sessions.
• Collaborate with the SLP to modify treatment plans based on progress.
• Monitor student progress through objective measures and data collection.
• Assist with AAC devices and technologies as needed.
• Prepare therapy materials and resources.
• Bill Medicaid for services delivered to students.
• Stay updated on research and best practices.
