Job summary

The Lakes Home Care in New York is seeking a Speech Therapist Assistant to support patients across neonatal to geriatric ages. You will work under a Speech-Language Pathologist to provide direct care, document progress, and help implement individualized treatment plans.

This role emphasizes collaboration with families and the interdisciplinary team, use of IEPs knowledge, and care in pediatric, adult, and critical care settings. Flexible hours are offered as part of The Lakes benefits.

Qualifications

• Current SLPA license or NY certification.
• Experience with speech-language pathology terminology.
• Ability to work in inpatient and critical care settings.

Responsibilities

• Assist Speech-Language Pathologists in assessments.
• Implement prescribed activities under supervision.
• Provide direct patient care and document progress.
• Support treatment plan development and modification.
• Instruct patients in exercises to improve speech and language.
• Collaborate on augmentative and alternative communication strategies.
• Communicate with patients, families, and team members.
• Maintain accurate documentation of interactions and progress.
• Participate in team meetings to discuss plans.
