Job summary

The Lakes Home Care is seeking a Speech Therapist Assistant to join our caring team, helping patients across neonatal to geriatric ages with speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing needs.

The role supports Speech-Language Pathologists with assessments, therapy, and progress documentation in both clinical and inpatient settings, emphasizing individualized treatment plans and compassionate care.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state licensure or certification.
• Knowledge of speech and language disorders and therapeutic techniques.
• Commitment to maintaining licensure and participating in professional development

Responsibilities

• Assist Speech-Language Pathologists in patient assessments.
• Implement prescribed therapeutic activities under guidance.
• Provide direct patient care, monitoring and documenting progress.
• Support the Speech-Language Pathologist in developing and modifying individualized treatment plans.
• Instruct patients in exercises and activities to improve speech, language, and communication skills.
• Collaborate with the Speech-Language Pathologist to implement augmentative and alternative communication strategies.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient interactions and progress.
• Participate in team meetings to discuss treatment plans and patient progress
