Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Speech-Language Pathology Assistant role based in San Jose, CA. The Speech-Language Pathology Assistant will support licensed Speech-Language Pathologists in delivering therapy services to children and adults in school, home, and community settings. Day-to-day responsibilities include implementing treatment plans, conducting guided therapy sessions, documenting progress, preparing materials, and assisting with assessments as directed. The role involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, communicating regularly with supervising clinicians and caregivers, and maintaining accurate, confidential records. The Speech-Language Pathology Assistant is expected to follow evidence-based practices, uphold the organization’s C.A.R.E.S values, and contribute to a positive, inclusive therapeutic environment.

Qualifications
  • Candidates should possess skills related to Speech and Speech Therapy to effectively implement treatment plans under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Candidates should possess strong Communication skills and knowledge of Communication Disorders to support diverse clients and collaborate with families and educational teams.
  • Candidates should possess skills in Articulation to assist in targeted interventions addressing speech sound production and clarity.
  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assistant studies, Communication Sciences and Disorders, or a related field preferred.
  • Current state certification or licensure as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (or eligibility to obtain), in accordance with California regulations.
  • Experience working with children and/or adults in educational, clinical, or community-based settings is beneficial.
  • Ability to follow clinical direction, manage time effectively, and maintain detailed documentation while adhering to privacy and ethical standards.
  • Commitment to inclusive, client-centered care and willingness to participate in ongoing professional development and training.
