Job summary

Midwest Health, Inc. is seeking a Speech Pathologist to assess, diagnose, treat and help prevent speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice and swallowing disorders at our Topeka facilities.

You will work with patients, families and the rehab team to develop effective treatment plans, maintain daily treatment records, and ensure safety and confidentiality standards are followed in a collaborative, patient-centered environment. This on-site role emphasizes timely evaluations and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Must meet recognized standards of professional education and qualifications.
• Must have basic computer skills.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Report witnessed or reported allegations of resident abuse/neglect immediately to the Administrator or Director of Nursing.
• Treat residents, family members, visitors, and team members with dignity and respect.
• Maintain the confidentiality of all resident and family information.
• Report to work on time and as scheduled.
• Responsible for identification of patients demonstrating communication and swallow deficits.
• Responsible for evaluating the patient within one business day of written referral from the Doctor.
• Plan and administer an appropriate treatment plan and communicate with the referring physician and rehab team; maintain daily treatment records.
• Follow weekly documentation guidelines for all residents treated.
• Provide in-service education to facilities, supportive staff, students and community.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Attain an efficiency standard for delivery of speech language pathology services.
