Job summary

TrulyHired is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist for Sumter County School District. The candidate will develop and supervise a balanced program for oral communication and speech improvement, delivering individualized therapy to students with speech-language and hearing disabilities.

The role requires a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology and a valid South Carolina certificate with certification in speech pathology.

Responsibilities

• Serves as a resource to school staff in developing a balanced program for oral communication and speech improvement.
• Provides a therapeutic program to meet individual needs of speech-language and hearing students with disabilities.
• Assists and guides teachers in observing, describing, and referring suspected and identified speech-language and hearing disorders.
• Provides a thorough assessment and diagnosis of speech, voice, hearing and language disorders.
• Provides screening to identify students with possible speech-language and hearing disorders.
• Provides appropriate individualized programs of therapy to meet the needs of individual students and to correct existing speech-language and or hearing disorders.
• Collaborates with classroom teachers and other school staff to implement therapy suggestions for daily activities.
• Provides information, support, and counseling to parents and families when appropriate.
• Provides in-service education and serves as a consultant to teachers and school staff on topics concerning speech-language improvement.
• Maintains ongoing records for the student receiving therapy and Medicaid documentation.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

11. Maintains correct Medicaid documentation.
12. Performs all other duties as assigned.

TERMS: 190 Days.

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of Professional Personnel.
