Job summary

Solaris HealthCare College Park in Orlando, FL is hiring a PRN Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to evaluate and treat residents, develop individualized plans, and monitor progress to improve communication and swallowing. Candidates must have a master’s degree in speech-language pathology, CCC-SLP or be eligible for CFY, and licensure in Florida (or CFY).

AHCA background screening is required; join a compassionate team dedicated to quality care.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in speech-language pathology from an approved program.
• CCC-SLP or CFY eligibility; eligible for Florida licensure.
• Prior experience in speech therapy is preferred.
• Professional attitude and confidentiality required.
• Knowledge of Medicare/third-party reimbursement preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide speech-language pathology services to residents per treatment plans.
• Evaluate and diagnose communication/swallowing disorders; document progress.
• Develop and implement individualized therapy plans; adjust as needed.
• Collaborate with medical staff and care teams to meet resident needs.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to facility policies.

Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) Qualifications:

• Must have a master’s degree from an approved curriculum in speech-language pathology or its equivalent.
• Must hold a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) or be eligible for a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY).
• Must be licensed (or eligible for licensure) to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist or complete a Clinical Fellowship in the state of Florida, as applicable.
• Prior experience in speech therapy preferred.
• Membership in state and national American Speech-Language-Hearing Association organizations preferred.
• Professional attitude and appearance.
• Proficient administrative and public relations skills.
• Thorough knowledge of the principles, methods, materials, and equipment used in speech therapy.
• Thorough knowledge of potential hazards to patients during treatment and necessary precautionary and remedial measures.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients and obtain their cooperation with prescribed treatment plans.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with medical staff and other personnel.
• Ability to understand, interpret, and follow a physician’s written or oral directions, recommend treatment programs, and outline expected benefits of speech therapy.
• Demonstrate emotional stability to cope with the demands of working with both patients and employees.
• Must maintain patient and employee confidentiality.
• Knowledge of Medicare and third-party reimbursement preferred.
