Job summary

Solaris HealthCare Zephyrhills is hiring a PRN Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide patient-centered speech therapy services. The role requires Florida AHCA Clearinghouse background screening and licensure eligibility in Florida, with preferred CCC-SLP or CFY status.

The ideal candidate will collaborate with residents, families, and medical staff to develop and implement effective treatment plans, while maintaining patient confidentiality and thorough documentation.

Qualifications

• This position requires a master’s degree in speech-language pathology from an approved program.
• CCC-SLP from ASHA or CFY eligibility is required or preferred.
• Active licensure or licensure eligibility to practice as SLP in Florida.
• Prior experience in speech therapy is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide Speech-Language Pathology services on a PRN basis to residents.
• Comply with Florida AHCA Clearinghouse background screening requirements.
• Collaborate with residents, families, and care teams to plan treatment.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and documentation per policy.

Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) Qualifications:

• Must have a master’s degree from an approved curriculum in speech-language pathology or its equivalent.
• Must hold a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) or be eligible for a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY).
• Must be licensed (or eligible for licensure) to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist or complete a Clinical Fellowship in the state of Florida, as applicable.
• Prior experience in speech therapy preferred.
• Membership in state and national American Speech-Language-Hearing Association organizations preferred.
• Professional attitude and appearance.
• Proficient administrative and public relations skills.
• Thorough knowledge of the principles, methods, materials, and equipment used in speech therapy.
• Thorough knowledge of potential hazards to patients during treatment and necessary precautionary and remedial measures.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients and obtain their cooperation with prescribed treatment plans.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with medical staff and other personnel.
• Ability to understand, interpret, and follow a physician’s written or oral directions, recommend treatment programs, and outline expected benefits of speech therapy.
• Demonstrate emotional stability to cope with the demands of working with both patients and employees.
• Must maintain patient and employee confidentiality.
• Knowledge of Medicare and third-party reimbursement preferred.
