Responsibilities

St. Joseph Medical Center Speech Pathology Department (SJMC) is looking for a dynamic Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our speech therapy team. This is a per diem day shift position. The Speech Language Pathologist's duties include, but are not limited to:

• Responsible for the evaluation, treatment planning, and implementation of treatment for patients demonstrating disorders of speech, language, cognition, swallowing, and other services prescribed by a physician.
• Assists in developing and implementing new and ongoing programs beneficial for the enhancement of the department.
• Work to prevent, assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, social communication, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders in children and adults.

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience

• Licensed by the state in Speech-Language Pathology.
• Graduate of an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's in Speech Therapy, required.
• MS degree in Speech-Language Pathology, preferred.
• At least one year of experience in a hospital setting, preferred.
• Current BLS for healthcare providers certification upon hire and maintain current.
