Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) PRN - UH Truman Medical - (Varied Shifts)

This position offers an opportunity for a motivated, compassionate Speech Pathologist to make a real impact at University Health. You will work with patients across all ages—from newborns to seniors—helping them improve communication, cognition, and swallowing. Every day presents new opportunities to change lives.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and develop customized therapy plans
• Help patients improve communication, thinking, and swallowing skills
• Adjust treatments based on patient progress and goals
• Educate patients and families for success at home
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and rehab team members
• Document patient progress thoroughly and clearly
• Supervise speech therapy students and rehab technicians as needed
• Participate in performance improvement projects and initiatives
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized workspace
• Contribute to special projects and stay current with professional development
• Support a culture of safety, quality, and excellent patient care

Qualifications

• Degree from an accredited Speech-Language Pathology program
• Current Missouri Speech Pathologist License
• Eligible for a Clinical Fellowship Year or hold CCC from ASHA
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Current BLS certification

Additional Information

Part-time, PRN position with varied shifts at Truman Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri. Work schedule is from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with approximately 1 hour per week. Internal applicants must apply via the internal career site by logging into myWORKDAY.
