Responsibilities

1. Evaluate patients' speech or language abilities and determine the need for therapy.
2. Assess communication problems through standardized tests or basic tasks.
3. Teach patients to improve speech sounds and voice quality.
4. Teach alternative communication methods, such as sign language.
5. Instruct healthcare team members, patients, and caregivers in therapeutic exercises.
6. Guide patients and caregivers in self-exercise programs when applicable.
7. Document patient progress and therapy responses according to agency policy.

Qualifications

1. Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology
2. Current SLP license
3. At least one year of direct patient care experience, preferably in home health
4. CPR certification
5. Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and insurance
