Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients' speech or language abilities and determine the need for continued therapy.
• Assess communication problems through reading, vocalizing tasks, or standardized tests.
• Teach patients to improve speech sounds and voice quality.
• Teach alternative communication methods, such as sign language.
• Instruct healthcare team members, patients, and caregivers in therapeutic exercises.
• Guide patients and caregivers in self-exercise programs when applicable.
• Document patient progress and response to therapy, submitting necessary reports per agency policy.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology
• Current SLP license
• At least one year of direct patient care experience, preferably in home health
• CPR certification
• Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and insurance
