Job Summary :

We are seeking a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide school-based and home-based speech therapy services to students with disabilities in grades Pre-K to 12. The SLP will assess, diagnose, and implement intervention strategies to support students in achieving their educational goals.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Conduct speech-language evaluations for students referred through the Committee on Special Education (CSE).
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) based on assessment results.
  • Perform feeding and swallowing assessments, if required.
  • Provide direct and indirect therapy to students during school hours.
  • Deliver therapy sessions using evidence-based interventions aligned with ASHA principles.
  • Monitor and document student progress towards IEP goals.
  • Provide therapy services for homebound students, as needed.
  • Maintain detailed treatment logs, progress notes, and reports using IEPDirect or school-mandated systems.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, FERPA, and NYS regulations regarding student data privacy.
  • Participate in IEP meetings to discuss student progress and necessary interventions.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, school administrators, and special education teams.
  • Educate families and caregivers on at-home strategies to reinforce speech-language skills.

Qualifications & Requirements :

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders.
  • New York State License as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred.
  • Minimum one year of experience in a school or pediatric setting.
  • Knowledge of IEP documentation and school-based therapy protocols.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse student populations.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices.
  • Bilingual (Spanish / English) is a plus.
  • Prior experience working in New York school districts.
