Responsibilities
Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) evaluate and provide skilled speech-language therapy to patients in home settings, which may include single or multi-family homes, assisted living, independent living, or memory care facilities.
Their duties include assessing and treating patients with language impairments, motor speech disorders, dysphagia, cognitive communication difficulties, voice disorders, and those requiring alternative or augmentative communication. Many patients may have experienced a stroke or have progressive diseases such as Parkinson’s disease or dementia.
