Job summary

BrightSpring Health Services seeks a dedicated Home Health Speech Language Pathologist for part-time, as-needed work in Lenoir, NC. The ideal candidate will provide expert patient-centered care, evaluating and assisting patients with speech and language difficulties. Candidates must hold a Master's Degree, have at least one year of experience, and possess the necessary state license and CPR certifications. The position offers flexible scheduling, a supportive work environment, and various benefits including medical insurance and tuition reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Minimum of Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• At least one year of work experience as a Speech Language Pathologist.
• Current, unrestricted license as a Speech Language Pathologist in the practicing state.
• Current BLS or CPR certification as per state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients' speech or language difficulty and determine therapy needs.
• Teach patients to make sounds and improve their voices.
• Educate the healthcare team and caregivers on therapeutic exercises.
• Document clinical notes and submit visit documentation per policy.

Responsibilities

As a Home Health Speech Language Pathologist, You will:

• Communicate with patients to evaluate their levels of speech or language difficulty, determining the need for continued therapy services
• Teach patients how to make sounds and improve their voices
• Teach alternative communication methods, such as sign language, to patients with little or no speech capability
• Educate and guide healthcare team members, patients, and caregivers in specific aspects of therapeutic exercises to support continued progress outside of direct therapy sessions
• Document appropriate progress and clinical notes noting patient's response to therapy and submit visit documentation per Agency policy

Qualifications

• Minimum of Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology from a college or university with accredited Speech Language Pathology program
• A minimum of one (1) year’s work experience as a Speech Language Pathologist
• Current, unrestricted license as an Speech Language Pathologist by state in which practicing
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) or CPR certification in accordance state regulations
