Job summary

Young Adult Institute is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to deliver therapy services to adults and school-aged children with intellectual and developmental disabilities in group homes, adult day programs and outpatient facilities. The role entails evaluating and delivering services with a consistent caseload and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to support clients across settings.

Qualifications

• Current licensure by NYS
• Current certification by ASHA
• Ability to work effectively with limited on-site supervision
• Dysphagia experience (preferred)
• AAC experience (preferred)
• Experience with I/DD population (2+ years preferable)

Job description

The Speech Language Pathologist will enjoy a consistent caseload. Evaluate and deliver therapy services to adults and school-aged children with intellectual and developmental disabilities in group homes, adult day programs and/or outpatient medical facilities.

Key/Essential Functions & Responsibilities

• Providing individual, family or collateral psychotherapy to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities
• Conducting psychosocial assessments
• Being part of a multidisciplinary team (medical doctors, nurses, psychiatrists, etc.)

Minimum Qualification Requirements including education, experience, licensure/certification, etc. and essential physical capabilities (e.g. lifting, assisting lifting, standing, etc.) Minimum requirements of specific positions may vary by assigned function and/or contract. Please refer to applicable regulations/contracts for all position requirements.

• Current licensure by NYS
• Current certification by ASHA
• Ability to work effectively with limited on-site supervision

Preferred Qualification Requirements ( desired requirements beyond MQRs above)

• Experience with the I/DD population (2+ years is preferable)
• Dysphagia experience, a big plus
• AAC experience strongly preferred but not required

Compensation:

$71.20 per hour based on $35.60 fee-for-service per half hour session

Schedule :

Saturdays from 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM
