Job summary

Premier HealthCare (PHC), a member of the YAI Network, seeks a Speech Language Pathologist to deliver therapy to adults and school-aged children with developmental disabilities in group homes, day programs and outpatient settings.

You will evaluate caseloads, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and provide psychotherapy as appropriate, ensuring high-quality communication care for individuals and families served by PHC.

Qualifications

  • Current NYS licensure is required.
  • Current ASHA certification is required.
  • Ability to work effectively with limited on-site supervision.

Job description

Premier HealthCare (PHC), a member of the YAI Network, is recognized by the US Surgeon General as a national model for the provision of health care, and by the National Council on Disabilities for raising the national standards of health care services for children and adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities. PHC has also earned national certification as a Level 3 Patient-Centered Medical Home by the National Committee on Quality Assurance (NCQA). PHC is unique in its quality of medical, dental, mental health, rehabilitation and specialty care provided to individuals with disabilities and their families.

Speech Language Pathologist

The Speech Language Pathologist will enjoy a consistent caseload, evaluating and delivering therapy services to adults and school-aged children with intellectual and developmental disabilities in group homes, adult day programs and outpatient medical facilities.

Key Functions and Responsibilities
  • Providing individual, family or collateral psychotherapy to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities
  • Conducting psychosocial assessments
  • Being part of a multidisciplinary team (medical doctors, nurses, psychiatrists, etc.)
Minimum Qualification Requirements
  • Current licensure by NYS
  • Current certification by ASHA
  • Ability to work effectively with limited on-site supervision

Including education, experience, licensure/certification, etc., and essential physical capabilities (e.g. lifting, assisting lifting, standing, etc.). Minimum requirements of specific positions may vary by assigned function and/or contract. Please refer to applicable regulations/contracts for all position requirements.

Preferred Qualification Requirements
  • Experience with the I/DD population (2+ years is preferable)
  • Dysphagia experience, a big plus
  • AAC experience strongly preferred but not required
Compensation
  • $35.00 per 30-minute session; $115.00 for evaluation
