Job summary

GHR Healthcare in Seaford, DE is seeking a full-time Speech Language Pathologist to join an in-house rehabilitation team within a nonprofit senior living community.

You will work with a geriatric population, focusing on dysphagia, speech, language and cognitive needs, with opportunities to follow residents across the continuum of care.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology (required).
• Active ASHA CCC-SLP certification (required).
• Active Delaware SLP license or eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat dysphagia/swallowing disorders.
• Provide speech, language, and cognitive-communication evaluations and treatment.
• Develop individualized treatment plans and goals based on each resident’s needs.
• Treat geriatric residents with dementia, stroke, Parkinson’s disease and other conditions.
• Recommend swallowing strategies, diet modifications, and safety interventions when appropriate.
• Educate residents, families, and caregivers on swallowing and communication strategies.
• Collaborate with nursing, dietary, PT, OT, physicians and care team members.
• Complete evaluations, progress notes, care plans, and discharge documentation.
• Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and discharge planning.
• Help residents maintain highest possible level of communication and quality of life.

Looking for an SLP role where you can spend more time focused on your patients and less time chasing aggressive productivity numbers?

We’re hiring a full-time Speech Language Pathologist to join an in-house rehabilitation team within a nonprofit senior living community in Seaford, DE.

This role works primarily with a geriatric population, treating a mix of swallowing, speech, language, and cognitive needs. Because therapy is provided in-house within a Continuing Care Retirement Community, you’ll have the opportunity to get to know your residents and follow them across different levels of care.

• Collaborate closely with nursing, dietary, PT, OT, physicians, and other members of the care team
• Complete evaluations, progress notes, care plans, and discharge documentation
• Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and discharge planning
• Help residents maintain their highest possible level of communication, independence, and quality of life

What We're Looking For

• Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology
• Active ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP)
• Active Delaware SLP license or eligibility for Delaware licensure
• Experience with geriatric and dysphagia populations preferred
• Skilled Nursing and/or outpatient rehabilitation experience preferred
• CCC-SLP required; Clinical Fellowship candidates are not being considered
