Job summary

Centra Healthcare Solutions Inc is seeking an experienced Speech Language Pathologist / SLP to assess and treat patients with speech, language and swallowing deficits in a SNF / LTC setting. You will work with an interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized plans of care.

This full-time permanent role requires CCCs, active state licensure, CPR certification, and collaboration with physicians to deliver effective therapy and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited school of speech-language pathology.
• Current state license as a Speech Language Pathologist / SLP or in process.
• Must have obtained Clinical Certificates of Competence (CCCs).
• Current CPR certification.
• Experience working within an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Assess referred patients that require treatment for speech, hearing and/or language deficits.
• Teach patients to make sounds, improve voices and develop oral or written language skills.
• Teach individuals to strengthen swallowing muscles or use compensatory strategies to swallow safely.
• Work within an interdisciplinary team to develop a plan of care for each patient.
• Provide speech therapy services/interventions in accordance with physician orders.
• Assess patient needs, plan for, evaluate and modify care to meet goals of speech therapy interventions.
• Set realistic and achievable goals for patients to develop or recover reliable communication and swallowing skills.

About the Position

A great SNF / LTC is looking for an experienced Speech Language Pathologist / SLP to join their growing team!

The Speech Language Pathologist / SLP is responsible for the assessment of referred patients that require treatment for speech, hearing and/or language deficits. The Speech Language Pathologist / SLP will teach patients how to make sounds, improve their voices, or increase their oral or written language skills to communicate more effectively. Also, the Speech Language Pathologist / SLP will teach individuals how to strengthen muscles or use compensatory strategies to swallow without choking or inhaling food or liquid.

• Assess referred patients that require treatment for speech, hearing and/or language deficits.
• Teach patients to make sounds, improve voices and develop oral or written language skills.
• Teach individuals to strengthen swallowing muscles or use compensatory strategies to swallow safely.
• Work within an interdisciplinary team to develop a plan of care for each patient.
• Provide speech therapy services/interventions in accordance with physician orders.
• Assess patient needs, plan for, evaluate and modify care to meet goals of speech therapy interventions.
