Job description

The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) provides evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, feeding, and swallowing disorders for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations in an outpatient clinical setting. Services are delivered using evidence-based practices to improve functional communication, swallowing safety, and quality of life across environments.

Essential Job Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, and feeding/swallowing disorders for patients of all ages.
  • Develop individualized, measurable treatment plans based on evaluation findings and patient-centered goals.
  • Provide skilled therapeutic intervention for:
  • Articulation and phonological disorders.
  • Receptive and expressive language disorders.
  • Pragmatic and social communication disorders.
  • Cognitive-linguistic deficits.
  • Voice disorders.
  • Feeding and swallowing disorders (pediatric and adult dysphagia).
  • Orofacial myofunctional disorders, when applicable.
  • Implement evidence-based therapy techniques and adjust treatment based on patient progress.
  • Provide caregiver and family education to promote carryover of skills into home and community environments.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary professionals including physicians, occupational therapists, physical therapists, counselors, dentists/orthodontists, and educators as appropriate.
  • Maintain timely, accurate, and insurance-compliant documentation including evaluations, daily treatment notes, progress reports, and discharge summaries.
  • Participate in care coordination and case management as needed.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized treatment environment.
  • Participate in team meetings, professional development, and continuing education.
Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Current Louisiana Speech-Language Pathology license.
  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC‑SLP) preferred (CFY candidates may apply).
  • Experience or interest in feeding/swallowing, voice, and pediatric therapy preferred.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices across the lifespan.
  • Strong clinical documentation and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Physical Requirements
