Job summary

HealthPro Heritage is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist for a part-time, maternity-leave coverage role at The Lafayette in Lexington, KY. The position is in a long-term care setting, with a 1 day per week schedule (8 hours) for 8 weeks, starting May 2027.

Compensation ranges from $55 to $60 per hour, depending on experience. The role requires a degree in Speech-Language Pathology, state licensure or eligibility, and ASHA CCC-SLP certification.

Qualifications

• Education: Degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
• Licensure: Valid state licensure or license eligibility.
• Certification: ASHA CCC-SLP certification.
• Skills: Strong assessment, diagnostic, and therapeutic abilities with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients across speech, language, voice, and swallowing using standardized tests and observations; diagnose from results.
• Deliver evidence-based therapies; monitor and adjust treatment; educate patients and families.
• Maintain thorough documentation of evaluations, progress and plans in line with standards.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated patient care.

Responsibilities

• Patient Assessment: Conduct comprehensive evaluations of speech, language, voice, and swallowing abilities using standardized tests and clinical observations. Develop accurate diagnoses based on assessment results.
• Treatment and Education: Implement evidence-based therapies for speech, language, voice, and swallowing disorders; monitor and adjust treatment plans; educate and support patients and families on disorders, treatment strategies, and daily communication improvement.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of evaluations, progress, and treatment plans, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.
• Collaboration: Work with healthcare providers to ensure effective patient care and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings as needed.

Qualifications

• Education: Degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
• Licensure: Valid state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist, or license eligible
• Certification: Current state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist. Certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) (CCC-SLP).
• Skills: Strong assessment, diagnostic, and therapeutic abilities with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficient in using diagnostic tools, therapy equipment, relevant software, and electronic health record systems, with a proven ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
