Select Specialty Hospital in Columbus, OH is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide comprehensive evaluations and treatment for communication and swallowing disorders. This per diem role emphasizes collaboration with Rehab Therapy staff and delivering high-quality patient care in a post-ICU setting.

Qualifications

  • Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
  • BLS certification or completion within 90 days of employment.
  • CCC in Speech Language Pathology from ASHA preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Take initiative, responsibility, and action every day while addressing the physical, mental, psychological and social needs of patients.
  • Understand communication skills, evaluation, and treatment and collaborate with associates to provide quality interdisciplinary patient programming.
  • Provide comprehensive evaluation of communication skills and/or swallowing function; deliver goal-oriented treatment to maximize communication/swallowing potential.
  • Participate with staff in monitoring the quality of services provided by Rehab Therapy Department.
  • Participate in peer review for staff performance and appraisals.
  • Assist in the development of the SLP role in programs and services, and revising departmental policies and procedures.
  • Assist in maintaining an adequate stock of supplies.
  • Share professional knowledge and alert the Manager to educational needs.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist required.
  • Certified BLS or completion in first 90 days of employment required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language & Hearing Association.
