Job summary

Vineyards-At-Fowler in Topeka is seeking a compassionate Speech Therapist or CFY/RPE to join our skilled nursing team on a full-time basis. You will diagnose and treat speech, language, and swallowing disorders, and collaborate with physicians to develop comprehensive care plans for residents.

The role emphasizes patient-centered care, adherence to regulatory guidelines, and ongoing documentation. Experience in long-term care is preferred; licensure in the respective state is required.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited university.
• Current state licensure in the state practicing.
• Experience in long term care or skilled nursing, preferred.
• Possess effective communication skills to maintain positive relationships with residents, families, staff, physicians, consultants, providers, and the community.

Responsibilities

• Direct all aspects of quality patient care, including evaluation and treatment, treatment planning, goal setting, family education and documentation according to guidelines.
• Provides professional treatment while using therapeutic techniques for rehabilitation of speech, language, hearing, oral motor, swallowing and cognitive disorders.
• Plans activities and provides therapeutic services for speech and language disorders.
• Serves as a patient and rehabilitation advocate; participates in quality assurance and customer service activities.
• Perform patient evaluations and develop treatment plan with short- and long-term goals per physician orders.
