Job summary

Recover-Care in Kansas is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to evaluate and treat residents under physician direction, following plan of care.

The role involves screening, planning, and administering therapies for communication, swallowing, and cognitive issues; requires MS in Speech-Language Pathology and current state license.

Qualifications

• Must have Master of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology and current state license.
• Certification in clinical competency is required.
• One-year clinical experience is preferred, not required.

Responsibilities

• Under a physician’s direction, provides direct patient / resident treatment based on established plan of care.
• Screens and evaluates residents and develops appropriate care plan.
• Plans, directs, or conducts rehabilitative treatment programs to restore communicative efficiency for individuals with speech, language, swallowing, or cognitive problems.
• Administers, scores, and interprets specialized hearing and speech tests.
• Instructs residents, families, and caregivers to monitor speech and provide ways to practice new skills.
• Completes required forms and documents in accordance with company policy and state and/or federal regulations.
• Maintains patient records in an accurate and timely manner.
• Devises special tools and treatments for the specific needs of patients.

Education

Master of Science degree in Speech Language Pathology

Current license in Speech Therapy as required by state law

Certification in clinical competency

One-year clinical experience preferred
