Job summary

Mariner Healthcare seeks a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist to evaluate and treat residents with speech, language, swallowing, and cognitive disabilities in line with state and federal guidelines.

You will develop and supervise care plans under physician direction, conduct rehabilitation, administer tests, and educate residents and families on practice strategies. CA vaccination and clinical competency are required.

Qualifications

• Master of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
• Current license in Speech Therapy as required by state law.
• Certification in clinical competency.
• One year clinical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Screens and evaluates residents and develops appropriate care plans.
• Under a physician's direction, provides direct patient treatment based on the plan of care.
• Plans and conducts rehabilitative treatment programs to restore communication and swallowing abilities.
• Administers, scores, and interprets specialized hearing and speech tests.
• Instructs residents, families, and caregivers to monitor speech and provide ways to practice new skills.
• Completes required forms and documents in accordance with company policy and state and/or federal regulations.
• Maintains patient records in an accurate and timely manner.
• Devises special tools and treatments for the specific needs of patients.
• May supervise Rehab Aides, and others involved in program
