Job summary

The candidate must have a Bachelor’s in Speech-Language Pathology, with Master’s/Doctorate preferred, and be licensed in the state with CE requirements. CPR may be required by licensure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Speech-Language Pathology required.
• Master's or Doctorate in Speech-Language Pathology preferred.
• Licensed Speech Therapist in the state and maintain CE requirements.
• CPR certification if required by licensure.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate residents to determine speech therapy needs, functional limitations, and rehabilitation potential.
• Develop, implement, and update individualized treatment plans to improve mobility, strength, balance, endurance, and functional independence.
• Assist nursing department with training of Restorative Aides.
• Supervise Speech-Language Pathologist CFY or students.
• Communicate regularly with physicians, nursing staff, and families regarding progress, goals, and discharge planning.
• Participate in Resident Care conferences, Utilization Review, and Rehabilitation meetings.
• Provide in-services on training programs for staff.
• Complete timely, accurate, and compliant documentation per regulations.
• Maintain a safe treatment environment with infection control and safety protocols.
• Educate residents and caregivers on goals, home programs, and safety techniques.
• Recommend durable medical equipment to facilitate independence.
• Contribute to quality assurance and rehab program development.
