Speech-Language Pathologist - PRN Heritage House of Marshall Health & Rehabilitation Center

Position Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a Per Diem (PRN) Speech-Language Pathologist at Heritage House of Marshall Health & Rehabilitation Center. We are seeking a SLP to join our dedicated team of professionals who provide person-centered care to our residents, aiming for positive outcomes.

Responsibilities
  1. Evaluate residents' conditions related to swallowing or cognitive deficits.
  2. Assist residents in achieving goals to improve cognition or swallowing functions.
  3. Provide education to residents and caregivers.
  4. Conduct skilled, medically necessary speech and language assessments, and develop individualized treatment plans to enhance independence and functioning.
  5. Implement augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems for individuals with severe expressive and/or language comprehension disorders.
  6. Train and educate clients, families, caregivers, and professionals as a subject matter expert.
  7. Coordinate with other professionals for diagnostic swallowing procedures (MBSS, FEES) as ordered by a physician.
  8. Maintain competent technical skills according to current standards of speech therapy practice.
  9. Communicate any changes in residents' conditions promptly.
  10. Maintain accurate billing records and clinical documentation.
  11. Respond to family requests and concerns in a timely manner.
  12. Collaborate with Restorative Nursing and other care staff for training and coordination.
  13. Ensure resident safety by preventing abuse or neglect.
  14. Maintain confidentiality and safeguard all patient information.
  15. Comply with all legal and professional requirements at federal, state, and local levels.
Skills and Qualifications
  1. Preferred experience in SNF/Long-term care settings.
  2. Current knowledge of treatment practices.
  3. Knowledge of Net Health Electronic Documentation System is preferred.
  4. Ability to manage patients with diverse personalities.
Minimum Requirements
  1. Active/Valid Texas license in Speech-Language Pathology.
  2. Current ASHA Certification.
  3. Good standing with all regulatory agencies and licensing boards.
