Job summary

Baptist Health is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist for a PRN - Days role in a hospital setting. The SLP will assess, diagnose, and treat communication and swallowing disorders across age groups, and contribute to department goals and protocols.

Requirements include a Master's or Doctorate in Communication Disorders (ASHA-accredited), licensure in Kentucky or eligibility, CCC-CFYE eligibility, and BLS certification. New grads welcome; experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • Masters or Doctorate in Communication Disorders from an ASHA-accredited program.
  • New graduates accepted; experience is preferred.
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure in Kentucky; Certified.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence or CFY Eligible.
  • BLS Certification Required.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and/or implement a treatment program for referred patients.
  • Contribute to the development and upgrading of treatment programs and protocols.
  • Develop and achieve departmental goals, objectives, and performance improvement indicators.
  • Complete position responsibilities by following established guidelines & protocols within appropriate time frame.
  • Complete documentation according to applicable national and state regulations as well as hospital and departmental policies.
  • Participate in departmental operational plan.

Job Description:

Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) play a critical role in hospital settings, working with patients across various age groups and medical conditions. Their primary responsibility is to assess, diagnose, and treat communication and swallowing disorders. Their duties can vary, but include:

  • Responsible for the evaluation and/or implementation of a treatment program for all referred patients.
  • Responsible for contributing to the development and the upgrading of treatment programs and protocols.
  • Responsible for the development and achievement of departmental goals, objectives, and performance improvement indicators.
  • Completes position responsibilities by following established guidelines & protocols within appropriate time frame.
  • The PT will complete documentation according to applicable national and state regulations as well as hospital and departmental policies.
  • The therapist will participate in departmental operational plan.

Requirements:

  • Masters or Doctorate Degree in Communication Disorders for Speech Pathology from an accredited institution by the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association (ASHA)
  • New graduates accepted but experience is preferred.
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of Kentucky and Certified.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence or Clinical Fellowship Year Eligible.
  • BLS Certification Required.
