Responsibilities

As a Speech-Language Pathologist, you will play a vital role in diagnosing, treating, and managing communication and swallowing disorders across all age groups. Your expertise will cover a broad range of skills aimed at improving speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, and swallowing functions. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Assessment and Diagnosis: Conduct comprehensive evaluations using standardized assessments, clinical observations, and diagnostic tools to identify communication challenges and determine severity, leading to accurate diagnoses.
  2. Treatment Planning and Intervention: Develop personalized treatment plans based on individual needs and goals, utilizing evidence-based techniques to improve speech, language, voice, and swallowing abilities.
  3. Therapeutic Interventions: Implement various therapy techniques such as articulation drills, language exercises, voice therapy, and fluency strategies, providing personalized feedback to support skill development.
  4. Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC): Assess and implement AAC systems for individuals with severe communication impairments, collaborating with patients, families, and caregivers to optimize communication support.
  5. Dysphagia Management: Evaluate and treat swallowing disorders through clinical assessments, exercises, diet modifications, and rehabilitation techniques to ensure safe swallowing and nutritional intake.
Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in an accredited Speech-Language Pathology program
  • Current license/certification in the state of practice
