Job summary

Ambercare Homecare in Santa Fe, NM seeks a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP-CCC) to join our growing team. The role involves conducting evaluations, planning care, and providing direct speech services in clients’ homes two days per week. Must have ASHA CCC, NM licensure, CPR, and reliable transportation.

The position supports home-based care with mileage reimbursement and a strong emphasis on work‑life balance within a supportive team culture.

Qualifications

• Certification of clinical competence in speech from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA).
• Licensed as a speech-language pathologist in the practicing state.
• At least one year of acute care setting or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of principles and practices of speech therapy.
• CPR certification current.
• Ability to make home visits and provide nursing care in the home environment.
• Reliable transportation, current driver's license, and appropriate automobile insurance.

Responsibilities

• Conducts appropriate evaluations, assesses home environment as appropriate, identifies equipment needs relative to speech/language function.
• Identifies functional speech defects and establishes a plan of care to improve patient’s function.
• Administers diagnostic speech and language evaluations and some basic, informal audiologic assessment in accordance with the plan of care.
• Recommends communication devices/aids as indicated.
• Prepare a report of each client’s diagnostic evaluation and make recommendations.
• Advise, consult and teach appropriate procedures and supportive activities to clients, family members, and other agency staff.
• Provide direct speech service to clients under a provider’s plan of care. Records and reports to the provider the client’s response to therapy.

• 2 days a week
• Wednesday/Thursday OR Thursday/Friday
• Coverage areas: Taos, Espanola (Alcalde, Velarde and Embudo)

What You'll Do:

• Conducts appropriate evaluations, assesses home environment (as appropriate), identifies equipment needs relative to speech/language function.
• Identifies functional speech defects and establishes a plan of care to improve patient’s function.

• Recommends communication devices/aids as indicated.
