Job summary

Ramseur Rehabilitation And Healthcare Center is seeking a Speech Therapist-PRN to join its long-term care team in Ramseur, NC. The role focuses on comprehensive evaluations, individualized treatment plans, and collaboration with an interdisciplinary team to support resident care.

The ideal candidate will hold an MA/MS in Communication Disorders, be ASHA-recognized and licensed in NC, with CFY completion and strong documentation skills.

Qualifications

• Graduates with an MA/MS in communication disorders recognized by ASHA and state board.
• Successful CFY completion and licensure/registration in NC or as applicable.
• Strong communication, documentation, and teamwork skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive speech therapy evaluations per MD orders.
• Develop and document treatment plans with long and short-term goals, frequency, duration, and modalities.
• Ensure MD orders for evaluations, treatments, recertifications and discharges are obtained and followed.
• Deliver comprehensive treatment to patients using approved modalities and adjust as needed.
• Document patient progress, monthly treatment plans, and discharges in approved formats.
• Attend meetings and participate in interdisciplinary team activities; supervise CFY or students as directed.
• Complete billing timely and accurately for speech therapy services.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited university with an MA, or M.S. in communication disorders that is recognized by ASHA and state board.
• Holds current license and/or registration in the state (as applicable).
• Successful completion of CFY.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive speech therapy evaluations as per MD orders.
• Document findings on the standardized evaluation format neatly, accurately and adhering to all guidelines.
• Provide a comprehensive treatment plan including long and short term goals, frequency,duration and treatment modalities, therapeutic interventions, clinical and technical guidelines.
• Ensure MD orders are obtained for evaluations, treatments, recertifications and discharges.
• Provide comprehensive treatment to patients utilizing modalities and modifying patient treatment as indicated and adhering to precautions.
• Document patient's progress in approved format accurately and timely.
• Document monthly updated treatment plan in standardized format in timely manner.
• Document patient's discharge and in-service as indicated.
• Document any caregiver or discharge in-services in approved format as indicated.
• Complete any and all other documentation required by Facility.
• Document care plans and information needed for the MDS as deemed necessary by the facility.
• Attend facility and rehab meetings as indicated by supervisor and/or Regional Manager.
• Participate in facility committee meetings as indicated.
• Act as a rehab delegate to the interdisciplinary team.
• Participates in scheduling of patients.
• Perform screens as indicated.
• Complete billing timely and bill patients ethically and accurately for all speech therapy services rendered.
• Cover other therapists' patient caseload during absence as necessary.
• Supervise junior staff members or students in compliance with State ST Board and Federal regulations and requirements. Co-sign notes of CFY's and students as indicated as per state and federal guidelines.
• Maintain professional relationship with co-workers, facility staff, patients and patient families.
• Provide in-service education regarding patient care or speech therapy service areas to rehab staff, facility staff and community as needed.
• Comply with all facility policies and procedures and safety guidelines.
• Comply with patient confidentiality and Federal Resident Rights and HIPAA legislation.
• Report to work on time, adhere to scheduled hours and project a professional image at all times.
• Adhere to productivity requirements, complete productivity reports and submit in a timely manner.
• Comply with all Facility Human Resource policies i.e. lunch, sick and time off notification.
• Maintain a positive work atmosphere by demonstrating and communicating in a professional manner so as to foster positive relations with customers, clients, co-workers and managers.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the department supervisor, lead therapist or Regional Manager.
• Adhere to any and all other Facility written and oral systems and operations.
