Job summary

NHC HomeCare Chattanooga is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team in a PRN capacity. The SLP will supervise and apply therapeutic techniques for rehabilitation of patients with speech, language, hearing, and oral myofunctional disorders.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology, CCC-SP (or eligible CFY), and state licensure. Responsibilities include directing the Communication Disorders Service Department, conducting evaluations and therapy,

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Speech Pathology from an approved curriculum.
  • CCC-SP or CFY eligibility as required by ASHA.
  • State licensure in the state(s) where you will work.

Responsibilities

  • Directs and supervises the Communication Disorders Service Department.
  • Provides evaluations and therapy as ordered by the referring physician and approves treatment plans.
  • Evaluates, plans, and carries out therapy programs with defined goals and periodic reevaluations.
  • Participates in in-service training for HomeCare personnel.
  • Consults with HomeCare staff on communication problems of patients not receiving speech pathology services.

Speech Language Pathologist - PRN for NHC HomeCare Chattanooga

NHC HomeCare Chattanooga is looking for a Speech Language Pathologist, SLP to join our team!The Speech-Language Pathologist supervises and participates in the application of therapeutic techniques for the rehabilitation of patients with speech and language disorders, hearing disorders and oral myofunctional disorders.

Qualifications:

  • Must have a master’s degree from an approved curriculum in Speech Pathology, or its equivalent.
  • Must have a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SP) from the American Speech and Hearing Association or be eligible for a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY).
  • Must be licensed in the state or states in which he/she will work.

SLP Position Highlights:

  • Directs and supervises the Communication Disorders Service Department.
  • Provides evaluations and therapy as ordered by the referring physician and recommends an appropriate treatment program for the physician’s approval.
  • Evaluates, plans, and carries out therapy programs, including the establishment of goals for patients as referred and approved by the physician, with periodic re-evaluations.
  • Participates in the in-service training program for the HomeCare personnel.
  • Consults with the HomeCare staff concerning communication problems of patients not receiving speech pathology services.
