Job summary

NHC HomeCare Chattanooga is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist, SLP, to join our caring team on a PRN basis. The SLP will supervise the Communication Disorders Service, evaluate patients, and implement individualized therapy plans in collaboration with the referring physician.

The role emphasizes quality patient care, ongoing staff education, and interdepartmental coordination to support communication and swallowing needs in home health settings.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech Pathology from an accredited program.
• CCC-SP certification or eligibility for CFY.
• Active state licensure in the practicing states.

Responsibilities

• Directs and participates in therapeutic techniques for speech-language rehabilitation.
• Conducts evaluations and designs therapy plans with physician approval.
• Establishes goals and re-evaluates progress with periodic reviews.
• Provides in-service training for HomeCare staff.
• Consults with staff on communication problems of patients not yet receiving services.

Speech Language Pathologist - PRN for NHC HomeCare Chattanooga

NHC HomeCare Chattanooga is looking for a Speech Language Pathologist, SLP to join our team! The Speech-Language Pathologist supervises and participates in the application of therapeutic techniques for the rehabilitation of patients with speech and language disorders, hearing disorders and oral myofunctional disorders.

Qualifications

• Must have a master’s degree from an approved curriculum in Speech Pathology, or its equivalent.
• Must have a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SP) from the American Speech and Hearing Association or be eligible for a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY).
• Must have licensed in the state or states in which he/she will work.

SLP Position Highlights

• Directs and supervises the Communication Disorders Service Department.
• Provides evaluations and therapy as ordered by the referring physician and recommends an appropriate treatment program for the physician’s approval.
• Evaluates, plans, and carries out therapy programs, including the establishment of goals for patients as referred and approved by the physician, with periodic re-evaluations.
• Participates in the in-service training program for the HomeCare personnel.
• Consults with the HomeCare staff concerning communication problems of patients not receiving speech pathology services.
