Job summary

National HealthCare Corporation (NHC) HomeCare Chattanooga is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team on a PRN basis. The SLP will supervise and participate in applying therapeutic techniques for rehabilitation of patients with speech, language, hearing and oral myofunctional disorders.

Qualified candidates hold a Master’s degree in Speech Pathology, be CCC-SP eligible or CFY, and be licensed in the state(s) where they work.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech Pathology from an approved curriculum.
• CCC-SP from ASHA or eligibility for CFY.
• Licensed in the state(s) where the work will take place.

Responsibilities

• Directs and supervises the Communication Disorders Service Department.
• Provides evaluations and therapy as ordered by the referring physician and recommends an appropriate treatment program.
• Evaluates, plans, and carries out therapy programs with goals for patients as referred by the physician.
• Participates in the in-service training program for HomeCare personnel.
• Consults with HomeCare staff concerning communication problems of patients not receiving speech pathology services.
