Job summary

Addus HomeCare in Alamogordo, NM is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to join our growing team on a PRN basis, with Sunday through Saturday 8am to 5pm availability.

You will conduct evaluations, plan therapy, report results, and support clients in home settings, adhering to ASHA standards and CPR requirements. Reliable transportation and current driver's license are required.

Qualifications

• ASHA CCC-SLP certification required.
• Licensed as a speech therapist in the practicing state.
• Knowledge of speech therapy principles and practices.
• CPR certification is current.
• Ability to make home visits and provide care in the home environment.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Conduct evaluations and assess home environment and equipment needs related to speech/language function.
• Identify functional speech defects and establish a care plan to improve function.
• Administer diagnostic speech and language evaluations and basic informal audiologic assessment.
• Recommend communication devices/aids as indicated.
• Prepare reports of diagnostic evaluations with recommendations.
• Advise, consult and teach procedures to clients, family, and agency staff.
• Provide direct speech services under a plan of care and document client response to therapy.

What You�ll Do:

• Conducts appropriate evaluations, assesses home environment (as appropriate), identifies equipment needs relative to speech/language function.
• Identifies functional speech defects and establishes a plan of care to improve patient�s function.
• Administer diagnostic speech and language evaluations and some basic, informal audio logical assessment in accordance with the plan of care
• Recommends communication devices/aids as indicated.
• Prepare a report of each client�s diagnostic evaluation and make recommendations
• Advise, consult and teach appropriate procedures and supportive activities to clients, family members, and other agency staff
• Provide direct speech service to clients under a provider�s plan of care. Records and reports to the provider the client�s response to therapy

Qualifications:

• Possess certification of clinical competence in speech from the American Speech Language Hearing Association
• Licensed as a speech therapist in the state in which practicingAt least one (1) year of acute care setting or equivalent experience
• Possess knowledge of principles and practices of speech therapy
• Complies and maintains current CPR certification.
• Ability to make home visits and provide nursing care in the home environment
• Must have reliable transportation, current driver's license, and appropriate automobile insurance
