Job Summary

This is an inpatient position within Saint Francis/St Mary’s hospitals Rehabilitation Services department.

Responsibilities

1. Provide direct and indirect patient care services as a Speech Pathologist.
2. Work primarily with adult and geriatric patients, with potential pediatric work for those with specific competencies.
3. Plan and administer speech and dysphagia therapy services based on referrals.
4. Maintain patient records and supervise support personnel and students.
5. Participate in compliance, quality, safety, and process improvement initiatives.

Work Schedule and Requirements

Minimum of two weekend shifts per month and participation in major and minor Winter UC Holidays.

Qualifications

• Masters degree with clinical fellowship or Bachelor's if graduated 15+ years ago.
• Minimum one year of patient care experience.
• Effective communication skills in English.
• Basic computer skills, including Epic EMR.
• Flexibility to work at all UCSF locations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Adult acute hospital experience.
• Ability to perform Video Fluoroscopic Swallow Studies.
• 1-2 years of clinical experience.

Licenses and Certifications

• California licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist or eligibility.
• AHA BLS certification or eligibility.
