Norwalk Hospital Association seeks a Speech Language Pathologist to perform examinations, develop plans, and apply interventions in an acute care setting. Scope includes newborn to geriatric patients, with potential rotation to outpatient sites as needed.
Requires Master’s in SLP, ASHA CCC or candidacy, CT licensure, and CPR. Experience with instrumental swallow studies such as MBSS and FEES is preferred.

Speech Language Pathologist - Norwalk Hospital - PRN
Under the general supervision of the rehab manager or supervisor, performs therapy examinations, develops treatment plans and goals, and applies interventions in accordance with the Standards of Practice of the profession, applicable state licensure regulations, and hospital policies and procedures to a variety of patients ranging from newborn to geriatric in age in an acute care setting. Opportunity for rotation to outpatient sites may exist per operational need.
Education: Masters degree required. ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence or candidacy for ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence required. Current license to practice Speech Language Pathology in Connecticut: Successful completion of minimum educational requirements for licensure including all clinical practice and comprehensive examinations. Temporary licensure may be considered at the discretion of the department manager. Current CPR Certification Meets continuing education requirements for state Licensure & CPR Certification Prefer: Previous experience delivering comprehensive care to patients with dysfunction secondary to disability, disease, or injury in accordance with professional standards of practice. Prefer: Previous experience in an acute care setting with diagnoses including pulmonary, oncology, multi-trauma, neurological, surgical, and medically complex patients. Prefer: Previous Experience performing instrumental swallow exams including Modified Barium Swallow and Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallow studies.
