Job summary

UVM Health - Porter Medical Center seeks a Speech-Language Pathologist to administer and apply therapy modalities as prescribed by referring physicians. You will evaluate, plan, direct and treat all patients referred to Speech-Language Pathology to restore function and help them live a normal life within their disability.

• Master-level degree required in Speech-Language Pathology.
• Current state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.

Responsibilities

Job description

Responsible for administration and direct application of Speech-Language Pathology treatment modalities as prescribed by a referring physician. Evaluates, plans, directs and treats all patients referred to Speech-Language Pathology. Speech-Language Pathology treatments help to restore function and prevent disability following disease or injury. Assists patients to obtain maximum performance and function in society while learning to live a routine “normal” life within the constraints of their disability. Participates in performance improvement activities within the department and participates in CQI activities. Provides information related to departmental budget considerations in relationship to Speech-Language Pathology’s needs for optimum patient care and service. Performs some administrative duties at the delegation of the Rehabilitation Services Director. Qualifications Masters degree from an accredited college in Speech-Language Pathology. Current State Licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist. Current BCLS certification.
