Job summary

UVM Health - Porter Medical Center is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to administer and apply treatment modalities as prescribed by physicians. The role involves evaluating patients, planning and directing care, and treating all referrals in Speech-Language Pathology.

The incumbent will participate in performance improvement activities and CQI within the department, and assist with budget considerations to support optimum patient care and service.

Qualifications

• Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology required.
• Current State Licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist required.
• Current BCLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for administration and direct application of Speech-Language Pathology treatment modalities as prescribed by a referring physician.
• Evaluates, plans, directs and treats all patients referred to Speech-Language Pathology.
• Participates in performance improvement and CQI activities within the department.
• Provides information related to departmental budget considerations for optimum patient care and service.
• Performs administrative duties as delegated by the Rehabilitation Services Director.

Job description

Speech-Language Pathology treatments help to restore function and prevent disability following disease or injury. Assists patients to obtain maximum performance and function in society while learning to live a routine "normal" life within the constraints of their disability. Participates in performance improvement activities within the department and participates in CQI activities. Provides information related to departmental budget considerations in relationship to Speech-Language Pathology's needs for optimum patient care and service. Performs some administrative duties at the delegation of the Rehabilitation Services Director. Qualifications Masters degree from an accredited college in Speech-Language Pathology. Current State Licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist. Current BCLS certification.
