FTE: 0.03
Hours/Schedule: In House Registry (IHR) to cover PTO, leave, or schedule gaps. Expectation of 192 hours annually, including 6 Saturdays per quarter and 2 holidays. Not a benefited position.

Role Summary

The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) provides safe and effective speech-language and swallowing services, including evaluation and treatment of persons with speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders. The SLP evaluates, plans, and implements goal-directed interventions to maximize independence, completes documentation per hospital policy, and supervises support personnel. This is an on-call/PRN position with opportunities at various network locations including Wheaton, Downers Grove, Palos Heights, Elmhurst, Homer Glen, and Oak Brook Terrace, Illinois.

Responsibilities

• Provide evaluations, modalities, and treatments in accordance with hospital and departmental policies, ensuring high-quality patient care.
• Interpret evaluation results to identify patient strengths, impairments, and functional limitations.
• Recommend treatment frequency and duration, establish measurable goals, and develop discharge plans.
• Supervise students and ensure treatment interventions are appropriate and effective.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers about evaluation results, treatment techniques, and prognosis.
• Maintain productivity, documentation, equipment, and supply inventory, and prioritize workload.
• Participate in conferences, professional growth activities, and mandatory education.
• Communicate effectively with team members, patients, and caregivers, maintaining confidentiality and respecting individual rights.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years experience in inpatient rehabilitation and/or subacute programs.
• Active Illinois therapy license.
• Current CPR certification.
